Virginia Diodes (VDI)
Virginia Diodes (VDI) is a world leader in millimetre-wave and terahertz test and measurement. It began in 1996 as a University of Virginia spin-off making GaAs Schottky diodes, and has grown into a Charlottesville-based company of more than 50 engineers and specialists. Because VDI fabricates its own diodes in-house, it can push performance from 50 GHz up to 2 THz.
Product range
- VNA extension modules for mmWave and THz network analysis
- Spectrum analyser and signal generator extenders
- Frequency multipliers and harmonic mixers

Industries served
Universities and research labs, 6G and sub-THz communications, radio astronomy, semiconductor and device characterisation, defence, and imaging and security.
Why RF Com
RF Com supports VDI systems with the parts around them, including waveguide sections, precision adapters, calibration kits and Micro Harmonics isolators, so the whole set-up comes from one supplier.
