Exploring the Cutting-Edge mm-Wave Components by Micro Harmonics

Welcome to the world of Micro Harmonics, where innovation meets excellence in the realm of mm-wave component technology. Our mission is to honour God by prospering our employees and serving our customers through the advancement of mm-wave component technology. Let’s dive into the superior products and services that set us apart in the industry.

Who We Are

Founded in 2008 by Dr. David Porterfield, Micro Harmonics has evolved from a mm-wave design consultancy to a leading manufacturer of advanced ferrite components. Our journey from 2008 to the present has been marked by significant milestones, including the development and global distribution of our innovative products.

Our Vision

Our vision is to create superior components that enable the commercialisation of technology in the mm-wave spectrum. We specialise in designing and manufacturing advanced ferrite components, including Faraday rotation isolators, voltage variable attenuators, hybrid circulators, orthomode transducers, and cryogenic isolators. Our products cover every standard waveguide band from WR-28 (26-40 GHz) through WR-2.8 (260-400 GHz).

What Sets Us Apart

At Micro Harmonics, we pride ourselves on our distinctives:

  • Lowest Insertion Loss: Our components are designed to minimise signal loss, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Highest Power Rating: We employ unique diamond discs in our isolators to disburse heat and lower operating temperatures, ensuring long life and high power handling.
  • Comprehensive RF Test Data: We provide detailed test data for every unit, ensuring transparency and reliability for our customers.

Our Products

Isolators

Rotation Isolator Fr100
FR100 Isolator

Our isolators, covering WR-28 to WR-2.8 (25 GHz to 400 GHz), are designed with anti-cocking waveguide flanges, diamond heatsinks, and internal waveguide screw access. They offer the lowest insertion loss, high isolation, and compact size, making them ideal for various applications.

Voltage Variable Attenuators

Micro Harmonics Va65
VA65 Voltage Variable Attenutor

Available in WR-10 and WR-6.5 (75 GHz to 170 GHz), our voltage variable attenuators feature high dynamic range, low insertion loss, and low VSWR. They are passive, insensitive to ESD damage, and offer superior performance compared to traditional PIN diodes and rotary vane attenuators.

Hybrid Circulators

Hc43
HC43 Hybrid Circulator

Our patented hybrid circulators, covering WR-15 to WR-3.4 (54 GHz to 330 GHz), offer wideband performance with 24% fractional bandwidth. They resist stray magnetic fields and provide low insertion loss, making them a superior choice over traditional Y-junction circulators.

Cryogenic Isolators

Cryogenic Isolator Fr100c
FR100C Cryogenic Isolator

Optimised for temperatures ranging from 1K to 100K, our cryogenic isolators cover WR-28 to WR-5.1 (26.5 GHz to 220 GHz). They are designed to withstand thermal stresses and provide high isolation and low insertion loss at cryogenic temperatures.

Orthomode Transducers

Orthomode Transducer Oto65
OT65 Orthomode Transducer

The WR-6.5 fullband orthomode transducer was developed as part of our initiative to develop the fullband WR-6.5 hybrid circulator. We are excited to start filling the market need for high-performance mmWave orthomode transducers.

Looking to the Future

We are continuously innovating and expanding our product range. Our future developments include:

  • Voltage variable attenuators from WR-15 to WR-3.4 (50–330 GHz)
  • Fullband hybrid circulators from WR-15 to WR-3.4 (50–330 GHz)
  • Orthomode transducers from WR-15 to WR-3.4 (50–330 GHz)
  • High-isolation transmitter-to-receiver hybrid circulators
  • Cryogenic voltage variable attenuators and hybrid circulators
  • Faraday rotation switches for fast switching variable attenuation

Applications

Our products find applications in various fields, including atmospheric observation, biomedical, portal security, radio astronomy, research labs, remote sensing, standoff detection, telecommunications, test and measurement equipment, and universities.
